Expeditions
These Expeditions are designed and structured to
show some of the superb country around Sydney
and combine park visits (working with specialists)
and relaxation.
We cover:
-
Organisations improving their environment
-
Participation in projects with National Parks specialists.
-
Sighting whales (in season), birds, kangaroos,
endangered flora and fauna and magnificent forests.
-
Kayaking (dolphin, bird and environment watching) and boat cruises.
-
Excellent walking experiences.
There will be time to nourish your spirit, swim, walk, fish,
sit and share the pleasures of food, wine and conversation.
We drive along the south coast from Sydney to Jervis Bay exploring environmental issues concerning national parks, urbanisation, Jervis Bay, its hinterland and nearby estuaries.
As in
Expedition 1, we drive the south coast to Jervis Bay, continue along the coastal lakes and estuaries to Narooma, visit Montague Island, then west through the harvested forests of the eastern slopes and back to Sydney.
This
expedition studies the impact of a large, growing urban area (Sydney) on its environment and bio-diversity. We walk amongst lyrebirds, migratory birds living on toxic wetlands, remnant forest, and experience superb views and inspiring solutions.
4. Booderee National Park Research Projects
In collaboration with Booderee National Park, we are developing a series of on-going research projects. Booderee
is a National Park owned by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community and occupies the southern end of Jervis Bay.
